KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

We are excited to announce an impressive line up of inspirational women.

CASSANDRA THORBURN  A journalist and an author. Cassandra made the decision to be a stay home parent after the birth of her second child. She is mum to two sons and a daughter. For many years Cassandra worked as a volunteer in her local community while raising her children but in recent years made the decision to return to media. Cassandra is again working in the media having returned to paid employment with Dancing With The Stars and as a panellist on Studio 10. Cassandra continues to be a voice for women and a passionate advocate against bullying, particularly on social media platforms.

SARAH JANE CLARKE AM  Australian fashion designer and mother of three young children. She is one of the co- founders of Sass & Bide, which was eventually sold in 2014 to Myer. Sarah-Jane is a qualified accountant, and took on the leading role of managing the finances and marketing for Sass & Bide. Sarah-Jane has managed to work in an industry that is ever changing and evolving, and has experienced first hand the importance of building a strong, supportive network of women, which has enabled her to grow a successful international brand at the same time as being a mother to three young children.

HELEN MURDOCH  General Manager Workplace Super MLC Masterkey and Plum. Helen leads a team of 175 to support the superannuation balances of 710,000 members. Prior to joining MLC in mid 2018, Helen gained over 30 years of experience working at a range of financial services firms including Mercer. She brings a diverse number of experiences to her current position having served as the Mercer Pacific’s Head of Product and Solutions Management, and as the Leader of the Women@Mercer Business Resource group in the Pacific Region (2014 to 2017). The Women@Mercer Business Resource Group was set up to support both men and women to thrive whilst balancing increasingly complicated personal and professional lives.

JENNIFER BOLLAND AM  A former Judge of the Appeal Division of the Family Court of Australia and is currently an acting Judge of the District Court of NSW and Deputy President of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal. She is a former director of Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College, Centacare (now known as Catholic Care), the Centre for Children and Young People, University of Southern Cross, as well as former Chair of the Mercy Foundation (a foundation focussed homelessness particularly homeless women and children) she is current Chairperson of the Curran Access Children’s Foundation. Jennifer is an inspiration to all women and is renowned nationally for her contribution not only to the law but also social justice issues.
